Off to the Beach

Oswald West is definitely a special day trip to the beach.

Located 9.2 miles south of Cannon Beach along Highway 101,

pull into the parking lot and hike through old growth forest.
"Step out of your vehicle and into a place with natural beauty that truly inspires.
Just a quarter mile from any of the parking areas to the beach,
yet the rigors of everyday life are stripped away by the time your feet hit the sand."
My favorite day trip from Portland to enjoy the sound of the waves,
watch the surfers, picnic, and enjoy being surrounded by beauty.

Moving to Portland 40 years ago I fell in love with this city.

It is my wish to share the beauty of Portland, Oregon through my eyes 

and future contributors.

Just walking along the edge of the Willamette River makes my heart sing.

Come along with me and delight in our surroundings.
There are paved paths on both sides of the river with lovely views
of downtown Portland.
