LoneSomeVille Pottery Company

Walking through the gardens at LoneSomeVille Studio,
all I can say is "WOW".
From the entrance gate there were roses everywhere.
The pump house was surrounded in the beauty of bird songs
and country garden delights.
Tucked under trees were pottery acorns.
The trim on the house was embellished with cut-out leaves.
From the porch hung beautiful pottery acorns with leaf designs.
The flowers were just spectacular and sat with so much love and care.
Tucked into the front room in the house were pottery made right there that
very much reminded me of Roseville and McCoy Pottery.
A statement on their brochure stated,
"We believe Lonesomeville is the most beautiful place on earth,
and our pottery reflects the graceful beauty we see around us every day."

Washington Park Rose Gardens

 Washington Park Rose Garden
Rose Festival time has begun and the roses are in full bloom.
Take yourself to the Rose Garden's in Washington Park for the
sweet scent and just plain beauty there.
There is also an amphitheater which has terrific shows later in the summer.
No matter what time of the year the view of the city is worth the adventure.
You can find the gardens just up the hill going west from downtown.
Take W. Burnside up the hill and watch for the sign to turn left.
For those of you visiting from out of town, a quick tip.
Burnside divides the city North and South, then
the Willamette River divides it East and West.

Podnah's

 Podnah's Pit
1625 N.E. Killingsworth Blvd., Portland, OR.
www.podnahspit.com
"slow cooked using 100% oak hardwood"
Texas style barbecue, which will fill your tummy
and satisfy your hunger.
Personally I usually end of taking enough home for lunch the next day.
Pulled pork and potato salad are my favorites,
but everything is just delicious.
Go early to avoid the wait.

Pok Pok

Pok Pok has such a reputation for good street Thai food that
if you don't want to wait in line get there about 4:30 or 5PM for dinner.
Thus I ventured out for some food recently with an early meal
that included delicious choices of drinking vinegars,
most popular item-chicken wings, baby back ribs, salad, and sticky rice with mango.

The original restaurant is at 3226 S.E. Division. Portland, OR.
Visit their website at www.pokpokpdx.com to find their
other locations, which includes 4 places in Portland.
They now are also located in New York City and Los Angeles, CA.

Laurelhurst Park

Laurelhurst Park in Southeast Portland has plenty of ducks paddling
and searching for food in the lake.

Laurelhurst Park located between S.E. Stark and Oak on Cesar E. Chavez Blvd.
It was developed in the early 1900's and designed with seven distinct areas:
A concert grove, lake, children's lawn, plateau and meadows,
picnic grove, and Rhododendron Hill.
It is a delightful place to meet a friend for a stroll
or sit with a cup of tea or coffee and just take in the beauty of the surroundings.

Taqueria Nueve

Taqueria Nueve
727 S.E. Washington Street
Closed Mondays, but opens at 5PM all other days.

The food at Taqueria Nueve is a step up from the normal
enchilada-burrito crowd.  Just looking at these photos
I think you should be able to tell.
From delightful servings of chicken to wild boar tacos, just delicious!
I highly recommend calling for reservations.
My family loves dining here for special occasions
and just anytime for good Mexican food.
